It's back to school you go
With your new running shoes
Books, pencils and lunch boxes
Even your new clothes too
The summer is all over now
You had a really great time
But back to the books with numbers
And letters with words that rhyme
The teachers really missed you
Even though you fooled around
You can learn wonderful things
When you sit without a sound
But it can really be fun there
When you go outside for recess
To play with all your friends
Even the boy that teases
So you walk or take a bus
Over to your new or old school
Where you learn to behave
And obey the golden rule
