Report card

We had a teacher conference with Leo's teacher yesterday. It went so well. The teacher really likes Leo. As you can see he is above the level at all subjects, specially Language Arts. He has straight A and A+ in all subjects. The teacher said, he will join the Math club in the school. Only one thing, her concern is Leo is often forgot his homework at home (4 times). I tell her I will keep track on him, and hope it will not happen again. But that is not my big concern at all..... All boys will always be a boy.... he forgot things sometimes. I did ask her about the C and B he had. She said that was just a test to see how the kids level but she was not grading them.

I can't wait to see what Vivien's teacher will say about her.

Now is time for me to go to the doctors. I have to see her every 4 weeks. But after today, I will see her every 2 weeks.
And after that, I have to go to buy the Brownie Uniform. Vivien is officially start Brownie. Her troop number is # 309. And she will go to the High School Musical - The Ice tour at Bank Atlantic Center this Thursday. Vivien loves that movies, and she can wait to go with her troop to that event.

After that, I will pick the kids up, do homework with them, go to the pool, and in the evening we will go to the Church. They have awesome kids program there at the church. I can't wake up every Sunday morning to go to the church, so we decided to go on every Wednesday evening which is great for me.

Well, now I really have to go. Enjoy your day!!! :)

baby crib

I just can't wait to go shopping. Leo and Vivien just got a new bed. And of course, I need to buy one more.... but not a bed. I just can't wait until the baby shower.

I just brought a 3 in 1 white wooden crib. This one can be converted to a day bed, that also comes with a guard rail that can be use as a toddler bed, or can be a full size bed.
I'm thinking to buy a natural bedding crib to come with that. Now what I have left to do is try to paint the room and put some window treatment. If you have any idea, let me know.

PS: Picture will come soon....... :)

School test

At the beginning of the school year, Leo has all kinds of tests on the first week. The teacher wants to see where the level all the kids are at. Leo brought home the result, and I was so surprised and :( .
(He brought home a C and 2 Bs). I was wondering if the school system here is better than in MA, or I did not do a good job with him, or we did not do enough over the summer.... all kinds of questions are popping up to, my head. For me, it was shocking, because Leo never even had a B before on his test. He was always an A student.
After that, every single day, we work so hard on his Math, homework, languages arts, spelling.... and finally the result is here:

He has A or A+ on all the test: Language Arts, Math, Reading and Spelling Test with no mistake.

Talking about Leo, I will of course not forget about his sister. She doing great this year. And she brought home so far also just an A

I am so proud of them. Hope they will keep up the good work. I love you both!!!!! :)

" Dear Bischof's,

Congratulations!
........

Boy scout meet

We had a first meeting today. Leo received all the things he need for the scout, such as uniform, year plan.... And they will meet one a week. Every 2 weeks, they will meet at the club to learn, and every 2 week, they will meet outside somewhere like camp....

Every time, they have to learn something to be able to get the badge after the meet. Today, Leo just learn the "Club Scout Promise":

I, .............................................,
promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack.

And "The Law of the Pack":

The Cub Scout follow Akela.
The Cub Scout helps the pack go.
The pack helps the Cub Scout grow.
The Cub Scout gives goodwill.

Sounds so easy, but they just not learn that by heart, they have to understand each sentences means, and have to explain them to their leader. After that, they will received a badge.

Leo really like his cub scout, he said he can't wait until next week to go there again.

Organized

As many of you know, I love everything neat and organized. And I am so happy with those stuff my kids brought home form school..... so organized!!!

1. This book is a student planer, is like the communication between parents and teacher every single day. It's also tell the parents what they learned and what they have to do for home work.

Last year, my kids went to MA school, I know they learned a lot. But when they went home, I really don't know what they have learned in school.... not at all. But this book will tell me exactly what they had learn and what was special subject for that day and I love that!!!

2. This folder is a plastic folder that the kids bring home all the home work and the information. As you can see, one side is home work to return, and the other side is all information for parents.

Last year, my kids used to bring home a bunches of paper each day. And some time I do not know which one to keep, and which one have to return. Now I don't have that problem any more.
Also beginning of the year, I have to go and look for a nice folder to buy. But after 3 months they all end up like garbage paper. But this won't happen this time. It just a simple plastic folder with school logo on it will keep the kids organized.

3. And this book is a reading book's record. They have to read everyday. Not just read, they have to understand the story to be able to answer all the 5W & H question( When, Where, What, Why, Who and How).

I remember last year, my kids brought home every beginning of the Month a sheet of paper for reading. And if I did not read that night or I did not return at the end of the month.... no one care. But with this book, we have to work together. They have to read, have to answer and we have to make a question, have to sign and the teacher will check every single day.

It's all just a simple things. But it will keep my kids focus and organized at school. And I am really happy with that.... I really am :)

I was worry about the change. But sometime, change is good. If you stay in one place, one school you may not know the different between all the place and school.
After today, I really happy because I did made a good decision.

Nervous

I can tell both my kids are very nervous for school today. I put them to bed around 8pm last night. At 10pm, my door was open, Vivien was standing there with her uniform on and called me:
" Mama, time to wake up. We're gonna be late!"
I took her to my bed and told her that, now is only 10pm. She should go back to sleep, and I will wake her up on time in the morning.

And today morning, Leo was the first one in the house that woke up...... at 4:30.

After shower, breakfast, we still have plenty of time..... even for my blog.

I wish all the kids will have a wonderful first day of school!!!

Back to school

It's back to school you go
With your new running shoes
Books, pencils and lunch boxes
Even your new clothes too

The summer is all over now
You had a really great time
But back to the books with numbers
And letters with words that rhyme

The teachers really missed you
Even though you fooled around
You can learn wonderful things
When you sit without a sound

But it can really be fun there
When you go outside for recess
To play with all your friends
Even the boy that teases

So you walk or take a bus
Over to your new or old school
Where you learn to behave
And obey the golden rule

Good Luck this school year!

I HATE......

As many of you know, I always tell my kids or all the people around me not to use that word. You can say I don't like, or dislike ... but "HATE" is just such a strong word, and do not use it. But now I do. Anyway, you want to know what I hate right?

"I HATE CRAMP"

I had too many cramp at the moment. It happened like almost everywhere, in bed, during walk.... and it kills me. I just hope it will go away soooooooooooooon.
Any suggestion?

Boy scout meet

I register Leo for Boy scout, and Vivien for girl scout. Leo will be Bear, and Vivien will be Brownie. Check out their uniform for Bear and Brownie.

And today is the first meet for Leo. His troop number is 222. They met at the Deerfield Beach fishing pier at 7:30am and they will be enjoy fishing. Leo got a rod, reel, bait & tackle, hook.... everything for fishing for free. He also got a cool patch, and a prize.
But because this is his first time, he did not catch any fish. But he really had a great time and hope next time he will catch a fish. He can't wait for the next meet.
Vivien also exciting for her first meet.

Beach time

We try to keep up with our traditional: go to the Beach every Friday.

School orientation

Today, we took Leo and Vivien to school for the orientation. They will see the new school, and meet their new teacher. They were so nervous. But at the end, they like their school and the teachers. They are now so exciting for the first day of school ... on Monday.

This year will be very excited year for both of them, specially Leo. He will have an FCAT this year for the first time. And you have to see their Math and Science books, they are big like a dictionary.
